It's Fall Y'all

I love fall. Fall doesn't necessarily hold my favorite holidays, but it's definitely my favorite season of the year. I love the fall smell outside, the leaves changing color, the weather having a crisp feel to it, just love it. So, in a small way, I've started nesting... b.a.d. And since it's fall time with Halloween quickly approaching, I have this overwhelming need to collect a new Halloween/Thanksgiving decoration every day and no matter how much I buy, I can't seem to fill my void. So for now, I'm avoiding any and all craft stores that sell decorations so I don't go too crazy. p.s. Did you know CVS even sells Halloween decorations? Add that to the stores to avoid apparently. But I do love the decorations I've collected over the years. The girls and I made these bats and the sticks we cut off a dead tree outside, so easy peezy.

We don't have a mantle in this house, so the top of our entertainment center takes it's place. Not that we ever used our fireplace in our old house, but still, who builds a newer house without putting a fireplace in it? Guess Santa has to find a new way to come in this year...hmm. Newest handmade decoration here: my "Boo!" sign.

My visiting teacher always comes with gifts in hand, whether it's something big or simple, it's so thoughtful. This month she brought me this beautiful platter she found in an Amish store. It fits perfectly on my china hutch. My newest homemade craft here is the white pumpkin. I purchased it from the Dollar Tree, originally a bright orange color; I painted it to calm it down and added some spanish moss and waa laa a classy pumpkin for a buck.

...and it completes the fall ensemble.

Even the baby is ready for Halloween, now all we need is a baby!
