New Moon Premier & Another Twilighter's Visit

My good friend, Sarah, drove all the way from Ohio to visit us last weekend to go to the New Moon premier with me!!!

Hallie also got to see Sarah's daughter and friend, Jessy which she was so exicted about! The girls were shy around each other for about a minute and then we couldn't get them to be quiet. They were best friends again instantly!


Hallie and Jessi were so excited to have a sleepover together, but it didn't last long....


About ten minutes into the sleepover the first night, Hallie came downstairs with Jessy in tow and said, "I'm so tired but Jessy keeps trying to talk to me and I just want to sleep!" Jessy understood what sleepover's were all about but apparently Hallie didn't.

Since Sarah was coming to the premier, I decided to throw a big premier party this year in her honor :) As soon as Sarah and I put our heads together, we started coming up with great decoration ideas and games, etc. and that's when Sarah whipped out surprise #1: a huge New Moon poster for me to hang on the wall. So we went one step further and had each of our guests put their "moon" cutouts on the face of the team their on, whether it be Team Edward or Team Jacob.


The day of the party, Sarah unveiled surprises #2 and #3 which was not only a New Moon t-shirt for she and I to wear but a New Moon shirt for Hallie and Jessy to wear too!! (Yes, our shirts say, "Team Mike" 'cause the poor guy will never get any lovin' from Bella!) It was fun feeding off of Sarah's excitement.


So we put our New Moon shirts on and headed over to Burger King for lunch and to collect 20 New Moon BK crowns for our guests!

With a few finishing touches on our table centerpiece, we were ready (and rested) for the midnight premier of New Moon!


Everyone brought a dessert or appetizer to share, and this was what my friend, Darla brought... Crush drinks (a.k.a. Edward's Secret Addiction) it was such a cute idea! Everyone had to take the New Moon trivia quiz and we had dark chocolate kisses for the winner. Our premier group grew this year from 5 to 9 people which meant twice as much screaming for Edward! Here's all of my fellow Twilighter friends watching Twilight before the premier... We had so much fun and we can't wait for Eclipse's premier June 30, 2010!!

Here's a couple of us minutes before the premier started... can you see the excitement and exhaustion from staying up so late!!?? Thank you Sarah for coming and making the party so fun!

What Toddler Knows How to 'Bump- It'? Sydnee Does!

Cameron taught Sydnee to "bump it" (using your fist) instead of giving high fives, and now that's all Sydnee wants to do when people ask for high fives!? It's so funny.

Pizza Hut Fieldtrip

Hallie's preschool fieldtrip this month was at Pizza Hut! It was so fun seeing how they run things there and the kids even got to toss their own dough and make their own pizzas!

Movie Night

We started doing movie night on Friday nights with popcorn and a movie of Hallie's choice about a year ago. We still do it every Friday night and Redbox has become the best invention ever in renting new releases for only $1! We've seen some fun new movies lately with the girls, and Daddy introduced Sydnee to popcorn a few weeks ago! She loves it of course, and enjoys that more than the movie.

Daddy's Cookie Tasters

Cameron LOVES to bake. Last night for family night, he and Hallie and Sydnee baked chocolate chip snickerdoodle cookies. Hallie loves to help bake and Sydnee loves to eat, so they made a good team.


Sydnee watched Hallie roll the snickerdoodle dough in the sugar mixture and place it on the cookie sheet, and then she wanted a turn. So she rolled the dough in the sugar mixture, and ate it... then ate some more! She was the official tester, and Hallie was the official "roller."

Our lesson was on the first Thanksgiving (thanks Megan for doing that cute FHE file from our file group!) and then we ate cookies. It was a fun night.

The Twilight Saga Continues...

Yes, New Moon (Twilight "2") comes out in 10 days and of course I'm going to the midnight premier again! This time though, my good friend Sarah gets to come!! She's driving all the way from Ohio to go to the premier, so I just had to throw a big premier party. Here are the invitations I made. They weren't as fun as last year's, but they still turned out good enough to get the "New Moon" idea across. I can't wait to convert you Sarah to be a fellow Twilighter!

Cuteness

I found these dresses on Target's clearance rack... Hallie needed a dress, but Sydnee didn't... I couldn't resist! They were the cutest kids at church yesterday.

A Confession

I'll admit that I've only attempted to mow the lawn once in my life when I was a teenager. It was a Saturday and my Dad was complaining again about how us kids don't help out enough with outside chores, so I told him I'd go mow the lawn (since I was the best child). He laughed, probably knowing I would give up, but I figured how hard could it be? It's just like shaving your legs, except with a lawnmower and grass. So, one row into it, I was done. It was so hard! I couldn't even push the mower!!

Fast forward 10 years, and now that we have our own house and our own yard... I still don't have to do it because I have a husband! But, since he's been so busy studying lately, I thought I'd mow the lawn for him this one and only time since this past week has been chaotic for him... or at least I'd attempt to. So, I called my neighbor, Michelle, and told her that if I couldn't figure out how to start the mower, I would need her to come and help me. She laughed at me, and before hanging up the phone I told her no taking pictures and no standing at her patio door laughing at me! When all is said and done.... I mowed our lawn in less than an hour with a lawn mower that is NOT self-propelled! Woo hoo!! My dad would be proud. After taking a much needed shower, I sat down at my computer when I noticed an email from Michelle saying, "I couldn't resist :)" with this attached to it....
revenge is sweet, Michelle!
