Cam was pretty tired of spending 3 hours to mow our lawn every week (we
have a big yard), so this year he was bound and determined to buy a
riding mower... used. I gave him a week or two of looking online for a
used mower and contacting those selling one, when we realized we had no
way of getting it back home. So when we came home from our Texas
vacation and our grass was 2 feet taller than everyone else's, I had had
enough waiting for Cam to find a mower. So I had to drag Cam and the
kids to Home Depot to buy a riding mower giving him the "I go out and
spend your money all the time and it's fun! So I'm going to show you how
much fun it is and you're going to buy a mower and you're going to like
it!" lecture... pathetic I know. So we headed off to Home Depot and the
closer we got the bigger Cam's grin got. So I thought I finally got
through to him. Nope! When we walked in the store, he walked right past
the riding mowers to look at the push mowers!!!!!! AHHHH! I literally
drug him over to the riding mowers, then his desire to have one those
big honkin' mowers kicked in and he was grinning from ear to ear in the
check out lane. It now takes him under an hour to mow the yard... def.
worth every penny!
The girls fight over who gets to mow the lawn with Dad first. Even I had fun riding it :)
Yep, there's 3 1/2 years in between Syd and Bentley and only 3 pounds difference between the two, ha! It's pretty funny watching Sydnee hold Bentley... he's bigger than she is. Bentley's six months old and weighing in at 19 lbs. 12 oz. Can't remember the length, but it puts him in the 80th percentile. It's the weight that I can't get over and here's what he's up to:
He sleeps from 8pm-7am... sweeeet. He still pees through his diaper
onto his pj's and sheets nightly but at least he sleeps through it now
and doesn't wake up... poor guy. I figure if it doesn't bother him it
doesn't bother me... until the morning that is. I've got stripping his
bedding and starting a wash every morning down to a science now ;)
He is starting to sit up, still a bit wobbly but getting there.
He's learned how to be heard in this family: by yelling or screeching at me once...or twice... or three times. And it works too.
He's becoming more vocal, making cooing sounds.
He totally gets when the girls are trying to be funny around him and laughs hysterically at them.
He started baby cereal this month and is my only child that LOVES it.
Has a tooth bud forming... we're just waiting for it to POP through.
He's still such a laid back and happy guy. He's worth keeping around for a while.
My good friend from college, Amanda, and her fiance Aaron were driving through our neck of the woods on their way to Maryland and they stopped by for a quick visit and a place to sleep! It was GREAT catching up with Amanda, and reminiscing on all those late nights we spent working on PR campaigns our senior year of college at BYUI. Great times. Congrats to you and Aaron, it was so fun seeing you again and meeting Aaron!

"A Parent's Right Hand" (January 2012) Cameron wasfacing Hallie asking her to use her right hand to do something as he held up his right hand to show her which hand it was. So Hallie kept holding up her left hand, which appeared to be the same hand as Cam was holding up since they were facing each other. Cam said, "No, you're other hand is your right hand," again holding up his right hand which looked like his left hand from where Hallie was standing. Hallie attempted to hold the correct hand up a couple times then looked confused and asked, "Oh! So, Mom's and Dad's have different right hands?" Cam then realized that she didn't understand which was right and which was left because they were facing each other.
"The New Junk Food" (December 2011) The girls can only have dairy in small amounts otherwise they get sick and have stomach aches so it's just easier to say they're a little allergic to dairy. So Grandma was telling Hallie that when you eat too much of the foods that aren't good for you it makes you sick. So Hallie asked, "Oh so all bad foods are called dairy?"
"Baby Grooming" (October 2011) The girls came to meet Bentley for the first time in the hospital and Syd was holding him, looking over every part of him. When she got to his fingers, she noticed how long the nails were and said, "Daddy you need to clip Bentley's fingers off, they're too long."
