Teaching Preschool

I taught Hallie's preschool last week. On Monday I taught the kids the color yellow so I had them stamp with yellow foods, then we had a yellow snack and then we glued yellow knick knacks to a sun. I also had them organize Popsicle sticks into different color groups and they did great.

On Wednesday I taught them the color green and we went on a nature walk to collect green things and we learned about turtles. The kids are holding up their cute turtle's that we made and I had them decorate their turtles' shell. It turned out to be such a cute craft. It's been so fun teaching them when it's my week to teach, and it's so cute to hear the kids recite the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of every class too. This week Hallie is learning the color red and we get to go on a field trip to the apple orchard to pick apples.

First Day of Preschool!

My little girl is in preschool already!??! I can't believe how fast time flies! Hallie had her first day of preschool two weeks ago with four of her other friends from nursery. All five of us mom's are doing a co-op preschool which means we each take turns teaching throughout the school year and we even take a fieldtrip once a month. We're about three weeks into preschool, and Hallie loves it!

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day Weekend, we had some more visitors! Grandpa Voge and Aunt Nicole and Uncle Ryan came to spend the holiday weekend with us.

Hallie wore Grandpa Voge out while he was here by playing games with him, playing hide and seek and chasing each other. Grandpa was such a good sport though, and Hallie loved playing with him! Grandpa bought Hallie and Sydnee some cute outfits for fall that Hallie is so excited to wear to preschool.

Ryan and Nicole just got back from Spain a few weeks before, and they brought gifts for all of us. Hallie's gift was a fan, and she LOVED it. She still has it in the box and uses it only when she's dressed up like a princess. Hallie and Uncle Ryan built forts together which made Hallie's day. It was so cute seeing them crawl in their fort together. We also got a sitter for the girls while the adults spent an evening at dinner and a movie which was a great treat.

And of course, it wouldn't be a visit from Nicole without a visit to Hobby Lobby for a craft... so here's the finished product which I hung in our hallway upstairs: We printed pictures and glued them to core board squares that were 8x8" then we found scrapbook paper we liked to match and glued those on as well. I still have to put thin black ribbon around the edges to cover the core board, but didn't it turn out great!? Thanks Nicole for your imagination and cute ideas!

A Couple of Out-of-Towner's

A couple days after getting home from L.A. Cam's brother, Jon, and sister, Katherine came to visit on their way back to Utah! It was so fun to see them again since it had been a year since we last saw them. We watched Sword in the Stone for movie night and went to the park the next day.

Hallie loved every second with them since they were only in town for one day and when they left, Hallie cried pretty hard which broke my heart. She knew that it would be a long time until she would see them again and it was hard for her to say goodbye... Thanks for coming to visit Jon and Kath!
