Like Momma Like Daughter

I spend a lot of my evenings sewing--who know's what--but Hallie loves to watch me sew. So the other day, I pinned this cute scripture case on Pinterest and Hallie just had to have one since she always brings her scriptures to church. So one afternoon, we put the younger two kiddos to bed and I Hallie helped me cut, iron, pin and sew her own scripture carrying case. She loves it.

Happy 4th of July!

I made the kids matching fourth of July shirts this year and after bribing them with cookies and Swedish Fish for smiling good at 9:00 in the morning (yep, they were hyped up on sugar most of the morning), boy was it worth it. Happy Independence Day!

Boys Need Accessories Too!

I owe my sister-in-law Nicole a big "thanks" for this post because she taught me a very dangerous thing a couple months ago... how to make baby/toddler ties. This is dangerous because I have a fetish with creating hair bows/flowers for my girls to match every outfit they own and now that I know how to accessorize my little man too, Bentley coordinates with my outfit almost every week at church. It's become quite a problem... but boy does he look darling and the ladies at church just eat him up.

Welcome to the Family Jeep

Cam HATES driving cars and has missed his Jimmy since the day we traded it in a year and a half ago for a little Honda Accord. So shortly after he got his promotion a few months ago, he came home and passionately told me how he deserves something nice for himself and wanted to get a new car truck or SUV. I actually kind of agreed but didn't say "yay" or "nay" since I figured it was a phase early mid-life crisis that would soon blow over. Plus I liked owning cars that were paid off.

A month went by and he started coming home with a new car every couple of days because he would hit the car lots on the way home from work and drive the "test drive" home to show me. Pretty clever and kind of funny. I always knew when he brought home another tester because he walked into the house with this silly grin on his face which usually was followed by, "Come see this one!" After a few days of this, I knew he was sold on trading his car in for something bigger and manlier, so when he brought this cool Jeep home, I too fell in love.

Cam is now the proud owner of this pretty awesome Jeep Grand Cherokee. Oh how Cam loves it's leather heated seats, sunroof, CD player, automatic car starter (ya, I'm a little jealous), keyless entry (can you tell how out-dated his previous car was!?), and fully loadedness. The day he went to pick the Jeep up, I'll admit I was a little jealous and spent the majority of nap time vacuuming and detailing my mini-van, pathetic I know.

Welcome to the family Jeep. Now please don't suck us dry with constant repairs and we promise not to trade you in.

Best. Job. Ever.

Last weekend we visited G&G and Aunt Stacey and the girls were especially excited about this trip because Stacey said she would take the girls into her ice cream shop where she works and make and serve them ice cream... any kind they wanted! The girls were thinking Stacey's job was the best. job. ever. What 4 and 6 year old doesn't want to work in an ice cream shop and eat all the ice cream you want!?

So we headed to Aunt Stacey's work and she got behind the counter and got busy. The girls wanted to try tons of different flavors before choosing the perfect one...we had to stop the "sample" tasting at 8!

Then they wanted chocolate dipped ice cream cones, so they placed their order and Aunt Stacey scooped... and scooped....and scooped...

Even Bentley wanted to try some. He kept screaming at me until I gave him some. If only I had taken a picture of his face. The best sour face ever, he hated it but still screamed for more! Hilarious.

Best day ever.
