A Potty-Training Prodigy?

Lately this little girl has been saying new words: "Mommy, pee pee!" or "Mommy, poopies!" When she tells me this I tell her to get a diaper so I can change her, but instead, she leads me to the potty in the bathroom and wants on it. "No way!" I think. So I sit her on the potty (and boy does she look funny on the potty since she is still so short that she can't even really climb up the stool to put herself on the potty yet) and she does a little grunting noises, then grabs toilet paper, wipes her thigh (yes, that's her perception of what gets wiped!) and then I help her down. She tells me she needs to sit on the potty about 6 times a day, and so far she hasn't done anything in the potty yet, but could we have a potty-training prodigy on our hands!??! Time will tell, but boy do I have my hopes up! What a smart little 21 month old!

She looks like such a tiny 21-month old!! My oldest daughter potty-trained herself before she was 2 and never had accidents! She was always extremely advanced with her speech too though...at 2 1/2 she spoke absolutely perfect English, better than a lot of adults I know! Some kids are very determined...I'm amazed at how many "babies" potty-train successfully at 18 months!

Such a blessing if she does get it figured out now. Lexi is on that track too, but we are struggling with it. She changes her mind about it every few hours. Good Luck!
