What is This Yummy Goodness? Fooooood!

Bentley had his first experience with food the other day. He's def. ready for baby food but I'm waiting til after our trip to Texas to start him on baby food. Cam gave him an apple slice to suck on while we ate dinner and to say he loved it would be an understatement. He'd suck on it, then let go and look at it and screech in excitement then suck the life out of it again. It was so fun watching him explore the best thing ever: foooooood!

Syd's Preschool Fieldtrip: Nature Walk

This month's fieldtrip for Syd's preschool was a fun one! We headed to the park by the lake for a nature walk and scavenger hunt. The kids each got bags to fill with the objects they find on their scavenger hunt list. We've had freakishly warm weather here lately (70 degrees!) so it was beautiful weather.

Lost Toof!

Hallie has been whining for months that she is going to be the only one in kindergarten who hasn't lost a tooth (I was the same way and didn't loose my first tooth until well into first grade, but what child wants to hear stories of Mom's childhood!?), but low and behold, she woke up one morning with a wiggly tooth! Four (painful) weeks later, it was loose enough to come out so Daddy went and grabbed the pliers...uh, I don't think so. So he settled for using his fingers and out popped her toof!

The toothfairy visited our house for the first time and left her with this note that read, "You lost your first tooth, isn't that neat? Now you can smile with a little less teeth. Your sweet tooth is gone but don't you worry, here's something sweet I brought in a hurry;" and she gave Hallie $1 and a couple sticks of gum. She thought it was the coolest thing ever! (Sorry it's sideways, my camera is deciding to act up)

Syd's New Binky Dog

Yep, you read right! Syd is finally broke of her binky and this time Cam didn't cave:) I actually was the one who had had enough of it. I threw it in the trash when I was so angry about something she had done not thinking of the long term consequences. Syd's face was just as shocked as mine was after I realized what I had done. But I thought, well it's in the trash, there's no going back now! So the first night was rough, we literally rocked her to sleep... poor girl. But we were so proud of her being a big girl we had to do something big. When Hallie gave up her binky she got "Binky Bear" so we had to keep up with tradition. So we got a babysitter for Bentley (for the first time) and Hallie and we took Syd to Build-a-bear to make a Binky Dog. She loved being there all by herself with Cam and I.

She first picked her dog, then she got to watch them stuff it. She added her heart inside and the lady told her to rub the hard as fast as she could so that her dog has plenty of energy to play with her.

Then she gave it a bath of air to blow all the loose fuzzies off.

Of course Binky Dog needed clothes: leggings and a matching jeweled shirt.

Kisses for Binky Dog...

After Build-a-bear, we took Syd and Binky Dog out for ice cream.

What a big girl! We're so proud of you Syd!

Uncle Jon's Visit

Uncle Jon came to Ohio for an interview at a dental school and stayed the weekend with us for a quick visit. We played the Wii, games and the kids just loved climbing all over him. Hopefully he ends up going to school in our neck of the woods so we can see him more!

The Little Entrepreneur in Me

After a while of thinking about starting a hair accessory business, I finally did after a few supporting nudges from friends and family. It's called Fancy Pansy and it's something that I have really enjoyed doing. I look forward to being a vendor at the local craft fair in May, stop by if you're close!

And don't forget about me if you're looking for a Fancy Pansy to fill those Easter baskets :) Click here to see Fancy Pansy's blog and the product I have available and thanks for your support: http://fancypansy.blogspot.com/

Bentley's Four Months Old

Bentley bug's four month pics turned out so darling I just have to start this post with these...

Four months old and happy as can be! You just look at him and he smiles. He tips the scale at 16lbs. 12oz.! He's not really a chubby baby, he's just a solid big boned and very tall love bug. This month, has been warm temp.-wise so we took Bentley on his first walk outside which he loved.

He loves time with Dad too and almost always falls asleep on him (he must feel right at home in his arms).

Actually our little guy falls asleep just about anywhere in any position...yep, even sitting up and holding onto a toy he was about to put in his mouth.

Thank goodness for his laid back personality:) Here's things I don't want to forget:
  • He belly laughs (at 3 1/2 months) and has been laughing every day since. He giggles every time he's tickled and he's starting to laugh at the funny way we say words or noises we make. It's amazing that he gets that that's funny even at his age.
  • He still sleeps through the night, only wakes once to eat.
  • He loves playing with his sisters, especially Hallie. He loves any attention Hallie will give him and coos at her when she plays with him.
  • He likes to talk but is mostly quiet and very observant and takes it all in, we think his personality will be a lot like Cam's.
  • He's still holding up his record of peeing through his sheets at least once a night even though I've tried every trick in the book to stop his leaky pipes (yes, Sarah F., even your idea!)

Valentine's Day

A couple days before Valentine's, we got a surprise in the mail from our cousin, Tenley. Her mom had traced her little 5 month old hands and put a strip of paper in between both handprints saying, "I love you.... this much," and the paper is folded like an accordian so the hands go bigger and smaller (Hallie's holding it in the picture). SO CUTE!!! Even the girls went "awww" when they opened it. It's definitely worthy of going up on our picture board right next to Tenley's picture.

On Valentine's Day I hosted Syd's preschool Valentine party and the kids had tons of fun making valentine's bags and passing out their notes to their friends.
