Sydnee Turns ONE!

Sydnee turned one on Friday! I can't believe how much my baby has grown and how fast time flies. Every month, I took a picture of Sydnee next to her Winnie-the-Pooh so we could see how much she's grown and it's been fun looking at how big she's gotten even though she's still only 14 pounds. She'll always be my baby, I love that about her!

Sydnee got phone calls on her birthday from both grandma's wishing her happy birthday. We celebrated Sydnee's first birthday on Saturday by inviting some of our church friends and neighbors over for a barbeque, some cornhole games, swimming and hanging out. There were about 28 people that came it was such a great turnout, and little Sydnee didn't even know they were all there for her.

I had to do some sort of theme for her big birthday party, so I decided to do a ladybug theme, hence the ladybug cupcakes which turned out so dang cute if I do say so myself.

We weren't quite sure what Sydnee would do with eating her first cupcake, let alone her first real table food and believe it or not, she ate about 3/4 of the cupcake by herself... apparently I was just feeding her the wrong things!? Then Sydnee had a few sips of Sprite to top off the night (much to my discresion) and we were prepared for her to throw it all up a few hours later but to our surprise again, she held it down and had no allergic reactions to anything. It was a great birthday!!

After tearing apart the cupcake, we opened gifts. Hallie got Syd a swing that Daddy hung on the tree and Mommy and Daddy made her her baby scrapbook of her first year. In the picture above, Sydnee is loving the shoes that the Stewart's gave her (let the shoe fetish begin!?) and she also got some books from the Routsong's and toys from the Lewis's and our wonderful neighbors. It was such a fun day, thanks to all who came to celebrate Sydnee's big day!

Happy Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day and this year I was able to celebrate it with two kids instead of just one which means twice the love the twice the kisses! Cam barbecued steaks for dinner... yumm... and the best part was that I didn't have to clean or change any diapers! Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's, our job is definitely the hardest and most rewarding in my book (even if that "rewarding" part only comes once a year on Mother's Day!).

Shannon's Birthday Party with the Girl's

Yesterday the girl's and I went to Marci's house for our friend's going away party and when I showed up, Marci had spent time making the yummiest birthday cake for me! So at the party, everyone sang Happy Birthday to me, it was such a fun surprise. And to their surprise I didn't need any help blowing out all 25 candles like they thought I would... I'm not that old yet! It was great to celebrate it with all my friends. Thanks Marci for the yummy cake and little party!

Shannon's 25th Birthday

Yesterday was such a great birthday, one of the best I've had since we've been married. The girl's and I went to a friend's going away party at Marci's house and little did I know that she had spent hours on making a birthday cake for me so when I showed up it became a little birthday party too.
Then we came home and this was waiting for me....

Cam had come home while I was gone to decorate. He also left rose petals leading to the fridge and this was in there...

He is such a romantic when it comes to holidays and birthdays, that's one thing I LOVE about him! I ended the night with a shopping spree buying myself some new clothes, which is something I haven't done in years I'm embarrassed to say! Anyway, thanks Cam for making my day special once again. Thanks Marci for the yummy cake and party!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I thought I would write this down since this doesn't happen very often. So the next time I get frustrated that the girls aren't playing nice together, I can read this and know that they can play nicely together! Today is my birthday (I'm a quarter of a century old!) and I wanted a few things for my birthday: to sleep in (doesn't happen when you have little kids), no crying or whining today from either of the girls (has happened so far!), and I wanted Sydnee to let me put her down without crying so she can play by herself while I get ready for the day. As I type this, the girls are both in the toy room upstairs happy and playing together!! What a great birthday gift!

p.s. When I woke up this morning, I told Hallie it was my birthday and she said, "Can I eat your birthday cake?" Way to get right to the point kiddo!

A Glimpse Into Our House

Welcome home! Enjoy a glimpse of a few rooms into our house...

This is our entry way.

This is our family room with our new furniture and our new 42'' flatscreen HD tv which was our five year anniversary gift to each other! Cam is having way to much fun with it!

This is our kitchen with our new kitchen table. We plan to paint the cabinets white and the walls a pale yellow... someday down the road.

I'll have more as we finish painting rooms and decorating, but that's a little bit of our house.
